We met our first British White Cattle on Cave Creek Ranch in Lemmon, SD fifteen years ago and instantly fell in love with their docile, sweet nature and yes, delicious cuts of marbled, tended meat. Hearing that calving ease and strong mothering instinct is one of their strengths further solidified our desire to raise these old world beef cattle on our farm in Minnesota. To top it off the breed is naturally polled.
We now have a small herd of BWCAA registered cattle on our farm we purchased from South Dakota, as well as a few grade cattle.
According to the BWCAA website, breeders can expect the following desirable traits from their cattle:
- Gentle Disposition
- Naturally Polled
- Fertility & Ease in Calving
- Efficient & Trouble Free
- Superior Maternal Instinct
- Excellent Milking Ability
- Growth & Hardiness
- Excellent flavor and tenderness
