The farm collie pups are such a delight to be around. Our children spend all their freetime playing with them, and the puppies have begun to wiggle up to them, tails wagging behind them, when they enter the room.
They continue to improve their ability to walk and have mastered sitting. When their mother, Brandy, enters the den the room is filled with excited yips as the pups dash to the milk bar. Brandy continues to be an attentive and dilligent mother, keeping the den clean and feeding the pups regularily.
Today for the first time we introduced puppy mash (puppy food softened and mashed with warm water). I was expecting to need to dip their noses in the food and get them started, but much to my surprise they caught scent of the food dish and dove right in, eating like champs.
Developmentally the puppies continue to become more social, playing with each other and vocalizing their thoughts with tiny barks and growls. It never gets old watching them wrestle and pal around.
Our children have given each of the puppies a temporary farm name to call them by while they grow up here on our farm, it is amazing how quickly they become individuals with their own unique features and personalities.
